We have to be careful when we feed Lucy. She has to wait to exercise one hour after she eats. Meals should be 2 times a day, and calm.

So there goes the water lillies
Here is Lucy splashing in the pond. She is destroying the
water lilies and cattail, but that is ok. It is the end of the summer. They
would dye back in 4 to 6 weeks anyway. They will grow back next spring. After
her splash time, I wash her off with the garden hose. She dry’s off in the
grass with a bone. What a great life.

The fish need to go
I knew it was a matter of time before Lucy jumped into our
pond. She loves water. She kept looking at it. So I went ahead and let her go
in. I wanted to see what would happen. Would she get caught in the net? Would
she be able to get out? The net was a problem. I had to pull it off the pond.
That means we will probably lose the fish to birds. But I would rather lose the
fish then the dog. She can get out just fine. My water lilies suffered damage.
But Lucy had big fun! And I washed her off and toweled her down. Now she is
sleeping like a baby! I was told she loves water. She tried to jump in the
river when Jürgen and I walked her. I see no way to keep her out of the pond.
If someone left the door open, I know she would go into the pond. I just need
to make sure she does not get stuck in a net. So maybe I can find a new home
for the fish before the birds eat them.
Does anyone want some big gold fish?
Welcome home
2 days ago we picked up our new dog “Lucy”. We had to drive
to the eastern part of the Czech-Republic, 3hours away from Prague, to the tiny
village of Uničov. She is a Giant Schnauzer. She is the
daughter of a great dog named Dora who has won many prizes. I wanted a Schnauzer
to replace our dog Mickey we just lost on Mother’s day this year. She’s
only 4 months old! She’s very social, smart and calm in temper. She loves to
sit in the grass. She likes to
chew. We have to be careful to give her
something to chew. And she was very
excited the first two days with us. But
she is finally calming down. Right now
she is 4 months old. I will blog her
first year as she grows to be a Giant.
